Mikrodust Launches AtoMik® Platform

Mikrodust is proud to announce the launch of its new AtoMik® Platform, marking a strategic shift from offering fully customized test fixture solutions to delivering a scalable, modular, and high-performance test systems platform. With this transition, Mikrodust takes on the role as a technology provider, shifting away from turn-key solutions, letting others take advantage of all the years of testing experience by supplying an easy-to-use test and measurement ecosystem.

The AtoMik® Platform is a compact, user-friendly, and powerful platform designed to streamline electronics testing in both manufacturing and R&D environments. By replacing bulky rack-mounted equipment, AtoMik® minimizes footprint while maximizing performance, reliability, and ease of integration. It features purposely built instruments used for source measurement, data acquisition, programming, and more.

The instruments are integrated with a user-friendly API and management service, enabling test engineers to easily incorporate them into their preferred software stack. This leads to shorter development cycles, simplified maintenance, and significantly reduced test cycle times.

AtoMik® Instruments

Source Measure Unit Instrument

The SMU Instrument features two high-precision, software-controlled supply voltage channels, each equipped with built-in software fuses. Both channels offer configurable slew rate settings and support remote sense voltage feedback to enhance voltage accuracy. Current measurements are available in three selectable ranges with high precision, operable in either manual or automatic mode.

Data Acquisition Instrument

The DAQ Instrument delivers high-precision data acquisition, converting real-world signals into digital format for display, storage, and analysis. It features single-ended analog input , analog output , and digital Push-Pull I/O channels. All digital channels are configurable as frequency counters. A high-impedance variant is also available, offering optical isolation for enhanced signal integrity.

Programmer Instrument

The PRG Instrument provides JTAG/SWD interfaces that act as communication bridges between the host and multiple target devices for programming and debugging. Additionally, the PRG Instrument features UART interfaces, enabling reliable communication between the host and test objects.

Base Control Instrument

The BAS Instrument serves as the interface between the AtoMik Interface Module and additional test instruments. The BAS Instrument also provides power enable and reset control signals for each connected instrument. A built-in expansion interface supports various types of external extensions for added flexibility.

Backplane x4

When populated with up to four instruments and connected via USB/SATA and +24V/+5V from the AtoMik Interface Module, the Backplane x4 forms a compact and powerful test and measurement system. Its 160-pin test interface provides a flexible connection that can be easily routed to target devices. Ideal for use in test fixtures, production testing, R&D, and product development.

Interface Module

The IFM Module powers and monitors the AtoMik® system while serving as the primary interface to an external PC host via two USB connectors. One USB input provides a direct passthrough for controlling AtoMik® instruments, while the other connects to an integrated USB hub for system expansion. The module delivers independently regulated +24V and +5V outputs to both AtoMik® instruments and auxiliary devices. It also features software-controlled open-drains. For a complete test setup, the IFM Module supports connection and software control of AtoMik®-compatible components such as an Emergency Stop button, RGB LED button, and external display.
